KEY POINTS
Somnia, an L1 blockchain and protocol suite developed by Improbable’s Virtual Society Foundation, has revealed the rollout of its Metaverse Browser, aimed at simplifying Web3 onboarding and exploration.
The browser, unveiled today, May 15, via a post on X (Twitter), boasts a user-friendly interface facilitating avatar customization, exploration of events within the Somnia network, and engagement in quests.
Using the Metaverse Browser, users can also create their virtual worlds and items within the Somnia ecosystem, leveraging AI-powered tools that streamline 3D art modeling, even for those lacking prior experience.
Currently, the browser is available for download on Windows and Mac. The roadmap includes optimizing it for mobile devices, introducing new apps, and establishing a marketplace for users to trade metaverse objects and avatar creations.
Introduced by Improbable’s Virtual Society Foundation in April, Somnia seeks to bridge gaps between metaverses, ensuring smooth user experiences, enhancing digital asset interoperability, and addressing metaverse fragmentation concerns. This means facilitating seamless transitions between different experiences for users and their digital assets.
Last month, Somnia also announced a collaboration with Yuga Labs to expand opportunities within the Otherside metaverse. This collaboration aims to bolster interoperability, allowing Yuga Labs NFT collection holders to engage in events, earn points, and enjoy experiences across various metaverse platforms.
