Renault is expanding its digital transformation strategy with the launch of its Industrial Metaverse.
The Renault Industrial Metaverse helps the Group to tackle certain typical business difficulties, such as information flows, control over production processes, management, and so on.
The Industrial Metaverse enables the Renault Group to act on four key points: mass data gathering, digital versions of processes, supply chain ecosystem connectivity, and a range of advanced technologies.
In terms of mass data collecting, Renault has created a system that allows a mass data collection platform – Industrial Data Management Platform 4.0 – to feed the Industrial Metaverse, allowing for real-time monitoring and sharing of production process performance.
Each Renault factory now has a digital replica in the metaverse that is enriched with data from suppliers, sales forecasts, quality information, and more, allowing for real-time monitoring and action from a control tower, a supervision tool where information flows, and that alerts in real-time of anomalies on all transport and offers.
These implementations and metaverse achievements in general would save the Renault Group €320 million by 2025, resulting in a 60% decrease in vehicle delivery time, and a 50% reduction in the carbon footprint of vehicle manufacturing.
