Pearpop, an American social media collaboration platform, just introduced Pearproof, a web3 app that allows users to mint NFTs of their social media posts.
But that’s not all. An important component of the project is the use of an algorithm that will allow NFTs to gain value as social media posts receive more engagement. As the NFT becomes more popular, it can reach silver, gold, platinum, and other levels.
As the creators advance through the levels, they are able to choose from different rewards, such as access to a private Discord channel.
Pearproof will use the Solana blockchain, which is low-cost and environmentally friendly.
The only ones who can mint their own social posts as NFT are the creators themselves.
“We wanted to create a platform or a format that allows us not only to establish ownership but also to be able to actually link their web2 metadata to make the NFT dynamic,” said Ray Lee, the Chief Product Officer for both Pearpop and Pearproof.
