Ozzfest, an annual music festival tour founded in 1996 by Ozzy Osbourne’s wife and manager and featuring performances by several heavy metal and hard rock musical groups, will take place in the metaverse this year.
Over 100 performers, including Ozzy Osbourne, will perform virtually at the digital festival, which will take place in Decentraland from November 10 to November 13.
The festival will be the second edition of Decentraland’s Metaverse Music Festival (MVMF), which debuted in October 2021 and drew over 50,000 visitors.
Nonetheless, this year will be a bit different. Decentraland has been working on additional features and skills to allow avatars to enjoy the event virtually as if they were in the real world. For example, the introduction of NFT Emotes allows any artist anywhere in the world to develop creative actions and gestures that bring avatars to life and allow them to express themselves, such as performing dance moves.
In addition, Kraken, the event’s presenting partner, will release a series of NFT wearables exclusively for festival attendees, open a pop-up NFT gallery, and throw а unique festival after party.
The event is free to attend, and people can already pre-register on the event page.
