Oracle Red Bull Racing, a Formula One racing team, has announced a partnership with Bybit and Azuki creator, Chiru Labs, to add a non-fungible token (NFT) on the Team cars for the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
This is the first time in history that a blue-chip NFT has adorned an F1 race car.
The NFT, the Lei the Lightning Azuki NFT, is based on a cartoon character designed by Steamboy, the lead Azuki artist behind the popular anime-inspired collection.
Spiky hair, light from the eyes, and a racing jacket with Oracle Red Bull Racing, Azuki, and Bybit logos are designed to convey the power and unbounded energy that will characterize the season finale.
“The nature of our sport means we are always pushing boundaries, and to be the first to put a blue-chip NFT on an F1 car is a tremendous feat. Our partnership with Bybit and Azuki has been an ideal way to help us explore the Web3 world,” commented Christian Horner, Team Principal and CEO of Oracle Red Bull Racing.
Aside from being added to cars, fans will also be able to own a limited edition of Lei the Lightning Azuki NFT. 8,494 NFTs will be minted on Tezos and made available for free on the Bybit NFT marketplace.
