Following the success of its initial NFT drop, Boohoo has announced a new NFT project that will include the release of an exclusive avatar collection.
The online apparel shop collaborated on the initiative alongside Amy Kilner, Reem El, Aoife O’Dwyer, and Shar.eth as part of its effort to push female representation in the metaverse and make the digital world a more inclusive one.
The generative collection mixes over 300 unique traits to create the distinctive Boohooverse avatars, and each avatar is picked at random from a pool of 30,000 unique NFTs.
The company made its first foray into the metaverse with the release of its free Boohooverse Access Pass, the first in a series of NFTs produced in collaboration with female artists and GMGN Labs. The card, designed by Amy Kilner, was claimed within 2.5 hours and caused massive increases in internet traffic, leading the site to crash.
The new ‘Boohooverse’ NFT avatar collection, according to Boohoo, will allow users access to future metaverse projects, a private discord group, and Boohooverse events. Holders will also have the opportunity to win a £1,000 trip voucher, £500 in cash, £250 in Boohoo vouchers, and 50% off for life. The winners will be revealed two weeks after the collection has sold out.
