“Buying digital goods should be as simple as buying a T-shirt or coffee pods on an e-commerce site. You can make your purchase with one click — that’s it.”
This is how Mastercard initiated its announcement about its partnership with Coinbase.
We’re working to make #NFTs more accessible because we believe tech should be inclusive. Excited to announce that we’re partnering with @coinbase to let people use their Mastercard cards to make purchases on Coinbase’s upcoming NFT marketplace. https://t.co/T6QpSIaKtK— Mastercard News (@MastercardNews) January 18, 2022
According to the American multinational financial services corporation, many people have a difficult time getting NFTs due to the complexities of the purchase process (setting up a crypto wallet, linking it to the NFT marketplace, buying NFTs, etc.).
Thus, the partnership’s mission is to enable Mastercard cardholders to purchase NFTs on Coinbase’s upcoming NFT marketplace by simply using their Mastercard cards.
Mastercard also ensures that all its cybersecurity capabilities are available to guarantee the safety of Mastercard customers’ data and the ownership of the NFTs they purchase.
