Elvis Presley, widely known as the “King of Rock and Roll,” is set to receive a unique tribute on the blockchain as a non-fungible token (NFT) avatar collection is unveiled in his honor.
The collection will consist of 3,000 NFT avatars, categorized into four different rarity levels. Each avatar draws inspiration from various iconic outfits and hairstyles worn by Elvis throughout his career, providing fans with a journey through the legendary performer’s fashion evolution.
These NFT avatars will be minted on the Polygon blockchain and made available through The Sandbox metaverse. Holders of these NFTs will have the chance of using them within The Sandbox’s immersive virtual world.
The release of the Elvis Presley NFT collection is scheduled for August 9, with the NFT revelation taking place on August 11. Each NFT is valued at 100 SAND, the native cryptocurrency of The Sandbox, equivalent to around $40.
While this venture marks the first time Elvis Presley will be celebrated in an NFT collection on The Sandbox metaverse, it is not his first appearance in the world of digital collectibles. Back in March 2023, the iconic singer was also featured in the “’70s Music & Culture” collection, a series of digital collectibles co-released by renowned media agency Getty Images and Web3 company Candy Digital.
