Hyundai announced a collaboration with the “Meta Kongz” NFT brand to release NFTs a few weeks ago. Today, the Seoul-based automaker announced the launch of its first-ever NFT collection.
The collection, dubbed “Shooting Star,” features 10,000 official Ethereum-based NFTs that will be sold on its official NFT website, hyundai-nft.com.
Pre-sale for whitelist buyers who won the NFT community event hosted by Hyundai Motor will be on May 9, followed by a general sale on May 10.
The sale of the Shooting Star NFT collection will be followed by the release of the newest ‘Hyundai x Meta Kongz’ video, which concludes with ‘Kongz’ discovering a shooting star lodged in a Hyundai Pony windshield wiper. Hyundai Motor will launch a full-fledged NFT project as part of its ‘Metamobility universe‘ idea, which will begin with the sale.
The ‘Reveal’ approach is used by Hyundai Motor’s Metamobility NFT, which shows a placeholder image first and then reveals the actual individual NFT images afterward. In other words, in late May, the 10,000 placeholders ‘Shooting Star’ NFTs will be transformed into unique Metamobility NFTs in a variety of forms.
“Starting with our ‘Shooting Star’ NFTs, we are expanding the Hyundai brand experience into the ‘Metamobility universe,’ creating unique opportunities for our NFT community members to join in the fun,” said Thomas Schemera, Hyundai Motor’s Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Customer Experience Division. “We plan to launch more unique NFTs based on the ‘Metamobility universe’ concept and introduce more member benefits to expand the community going forward. We welcome everyone to be part of our experimental journey.”
