The long-awaited Game of Thrones NFT collection sold out in less than seven hours—which was to be expected.
Nifty’s, the NFT marketplace where the collection was released, made the announcement on Twitter.
The collection covers series 1, “Build Your Realm,” which was launched in two stages: the first, named Hero Box, featured 3,450 NFTs for pre-sale and 1,500 for later public sale.
Each NFT—minted on the Palm blockchain—features Game of Thrones characters, places, weapons, and more from Game of Thrones, letting users create their own realms and empower their avatars.
There are also NFT Story Cards included in each box: in Series 1, these focus on characters, locations, and scenes from The North. With Story Cards, holders can earn rewards; for example, holding certain characters that appear in historical battles could earn them even rare collectibles when used in themed collection challenges. Challenges will be announced closer to early 2023.
Those who missed the opportunity to buy NFTs can browse and make purchases on Nifty’s secondary marketplace.
Series 2 is slated to come to OpenSea soon, according to Nifty’s.
