KnownOrigin, the NFT marketplace acquired by eBay in June, has announced the release of a new tool that will allow creators to deploy and mint their own contracts.
According to recent tweets from KnownOrigin, the tool, dubbed “Creator Contracts,” has been tested in beta over the previous few weeks, with 84 contracts deployed and 250 editions minted.
The creation of customized contracts would allow artists to take control of the design, content, and appearance of their collections across all marketplaces, rather than having shared contracts that are rigidly tied to certain marketplaces and may disappear if those marketplaces cease to exist.
Creator Contracts also takes advantage of the collaborative feature, which allows co-creators to split earnings and royalties.
As part of this tool release — which will take place on February 24 for all approved creators — KnownOrigin has collaborated with Deadfellaz to offer the NFT series “Draw The Undead Season 2.”
The series consists of nine derivative NFTs, the first to be minted on KnownOrigin using Creator Contracts. These NFTs will be available for purchase on February 24 for 0.013 ETH apiece.
