All England Tennis Club has unveiled a virtual replica of Wimbledon’s famous Hill, a socially interactive metaverse-style experience that invites guests to set up a virtual tent on the hill.
Visitors begin by creating a personalized avatar before choosing their own picnic place among other tennis enthusiasts from across the world.
Some will even be able to engage with the avatar of British Wimbledon champion Sir Andy Murray.
They may also invite and tour the Virtual Hill with family and friends to share their experience of the reimagined iconic fan area.
While commenting to matches with emojis and sharing experiences on social media, users may also complete daily activities around the Hill to earn ‘WimbleCoin‘ and daily rewards.
In addition to creating their avatar, users may respond in real-time to gaming and what others are doing around them, as well as explore the big screen and adjacent kiosks.
They may also engage with surveys and in-play statistics to dramatize crucial events throughout the day, while new features become available as The Championships progress.
There is also a hot air balloon experience called ‘Up Up We Go,’ which provides a unique aerial perspective of the Hill as well as a glance into the hidden treasures surrounding the renowned mound.
