World of Women (WoW), a project focused on women in the non-fungible token (NFT) space, has revealed its collaboration with Tezos to enhance opportunities in the Web3 ecosystem.
Under this partnership, upcoming releases from WoW — including Patio on-chain activity and art drops — will occur on Etherlink.
Etherlink is an EVM-compatible, non-custodial scaling solution, powered by Tezos Smart Rollups technology.
Conversely, previous and existing WoW/G NFTs will remain on the Ethereum blockchain.
Statistics reveal a gender gap within the Web3 domain: while women constitute 37% of cryptocurrency holders, they represent only 27% of the Web3 workforce and a mere 13% of startup founding teams, according to Boston Consulting Group data.
World of Women aims to address this imbalance by offering “opportunities to further their impact at the forefront of art, tech, and culture,” as stated by Shannon Snow, COO of World of Women.
The partnership with Tezos is seen as a step towards advancing this objective. Kathleen Breitman, co-founder of Tezos, stated “WoW building on Tezos offers hope for a future where women may be represented equally in a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable digital landscape.”
Since its inception in 2021, WoW has been actively promoting the representation of women in the NFT space through various initiatives. Beginning as an NFT collection featuring 10,000 digital artworks of women from diverse backgrounds, WoW has continually expanded its reach.
For instance, in October of the previous year, WoW collaborated with WS Game to introduce a special Monopoly edition, intertwining NFTs with the classic board game.
