To celebrate the launch of the Galaxy S23 series and the first Galaxy Experience space in Southeast Asia, Samsung is releasing a non-fungible token (NFT) collection.
There are 253 NFTs in the “Epic Beginnings” series, each portraying Singapore’s first Galaxy Experience Space surrounded by sustainable landmarks Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay.
In four-color schematics, these NFTs highlight one of the core values of the Galaxy S23 series — sustainability.
NFTs will be awarded to the winners of the #SharetheEpic Photo contest, in which participants are invited to use their Galaxy smartphones to take photos of what “epic” means to them and submit them.
Entries will be accepted until February 28, 2021, 11:59 PM Singapore Time, and the photos with the most likes will be chosen as the winners.
As a prize for winning, each winner will receive an NFT that will provide free access to 29 Rooms — an art exhibition space featuring 29 connected and themed rooms — which will be held for the first time in Asia.
The NFTs will be minted on the Aergo blockchain and offered through the CCCV NFT marketplace.
This is not Samsung’s first endeavor to commemorate the debut of the Galaxy S23; Samsung Germany collaborated with Ledger, a maker of crypto hardware wallets, on a Web3-related program that provides a phygital experience.
Apart from that, Samsung has also tapped into the metaverse to educate people about its products; in October, it unveiled the “House of SAM,” a Decentraland metaverse experience where users can learn more about the company’s brand and products.
