English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams is gearing up to make his debut in the virtual world by taking center stage in the metaverse.
The artist is set to perform a special 25th-anniversary concert in a hyper-realistic virtual realm known as LightCycle, created in collaboration with Dubai-based H3 Entertainment and powered by Unreal Engine 5 technology.
This move underlines Robbie Williams’s commitment to exploring innovative avenues for connecting with his fanbase and fostering music discovery through creativity and technology.
A sneak peek of the artist’s virtual performance will be unveiled during the LightCycle preview night at the EDGE Global Web3 and AI Investment Summit, taking place at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong on September 26 and 27. This presentation promises to showcase the cutting-edge possibilities of the metaverse as a platform for artistic expression and live entertainment.
This isn’t Robbie Williams’s first foray into the realm of Web3.
In 2022, he joined forces with Germany-based telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom to re-imagine his hit song “Angels” by infusing it with AI-generated “Beethoven-style compositions.” The original track had already garnered over 450 million streams on Spotify, demonstrating Williams’s willingness to embrace technological innovations in music creation and distribution.
