The soft drink manufacturer, Pepsi, announced the launch of its first NFT collection to celebrate its birth year.
Known as “Pepsi Mic Drop”, it is a collection of unique NFTs created through generative-style methods on the Ethereum blockchain.
There are 1,893 generative NFTs in the collection, a number that represents the year Pepsi was founded. These genesis tokens consist of nearly 50 unique attributes across six categories, such as microphones, stages, accessories, etc.

Pepsi hosts its NFT collection on the web portal micdrop.pepsi.com and Vaynernft helped the company create the NFT collectibles.
Pepsi will share the link to the waitlist on Twitter on December 10th, 2021, four days prior to the NFT launch, on Tuesday, December 14 at 12:30 p.m. (EST).
As stated on the website, “The Pepsi Mic Drop NFT is free to mint. However, please note that the person claiming the NFT is responsible for paying the gas fee required to process the transaction.”
“If you are successfully added to the waitlist, the NFTs will be available to mint for free (plus gas fee) on the Pepsi Mic Drop NFT website. You will simply be asked to connect your MetaMask wallet to the website, complete the transaction, and the NFT will then be transferred to that wallet.”
Pepsi’s move marks yet another step towards blockchain technology and NFT’s world, following other companies such as Adidas, AMC Entertainment, and many more.
