In a recent press release, Metaverse Game Studios, a game development company from the developers behind games like Far Cry, Destiny, Diablo Immortal, and others, announced it would leverage ImmutableX for its AAA Web3 title Angelic.
Angelic is an RPG dark science fiction-themed game with typical narrative game heroes set in a blockchain-enhanced collaborative universe.
By leveraging ImmutableX’s full-stack Web3 gaming platform, Angelic will enable players to own Ethereum-based non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
In this way, Angelic hopes to engage both Web2 and Web3 players, providing them an opportunity to engage in the game and create a sense of community.
Using a “collaborate-to-earn” model that allows gamers to be rewarded for their contributions, players will also be able to shape the game’s future.
Angelic’s alpha test will be available to select community members and partners from Q1 2023, while the public launch is scheduled for Q2 2023.
This is not the first time a company has chosen ImmutableX to power one of its Web3 initiatives. In addition to GameStop, which picked ImmutableX to launch its NFT marketplace, Habbo chose ImmutableX as its NFT solution to build a fully Web3 Habbo.
