LG will exhibit some of its most innovative products at CES 2023 (previously known as the Consumer Electronics Show).
Among the products on display will be LG’s Styler ShoeCase and ShoeCare, which were first introduced at IFA 2022.
For its participation at CES, however, LG has chosen to expand its breakthrough shoe case and care products meant for the MZ generation – Millennials and Gen Z – by introducing another new tech dimension: non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
The shoe shelves will be decorated with holograms of Monster Shoes, an NFT pair of shoes available in 5,500 unique designs that can be collected by using LG ThinQ, an app that allows people to manage all their LG smart home devices from a single place.
In the ShoeCase shelf, transparent panels create an ideal environment for shoes, keeping humidity out and UV light from discoloring fabrics.
Meanwhile, LG’s shoe care solution, which is packed with groundbreaking LG TrueStream technology, one of the most effective ways to kill germs, provides an easy-to-use and rapid approach to soak up moisture and help eliminate odors from footwear.
CES 2023 will take place in Las Vegas from January 5 to January 8, with shelves going on sale in the second part of the next year.
This is not LG’s first foray into the NFT market; during CEDIA Expo 2022, LG displayed its most recent and innovative TVs, some of which feature NFT art. In September, LG announced LG Art Lab, a new platform that lets smart TV owners buy, trade, and display NFTs directly from their home screen.
Recently, the electronics company has begun to embrace the metaverse, collaborating with Cheongju University to create “Meta-Life,” a virtual campus for students.
