During the last few months, Hyundai has been quite active withing the realm of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Following the announcement of a partnership with the “Meta Kongz” NFT brand in April, the South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer announced the release of its first-ever NFT collection, “Shooting Star.”
The collection includes 10,000 official Ethereum-based NFTs and employs the ‘Reveal’ technique, which initially displays a placeholder picture before revealing the actual individual NFT images.
Now comes the transformation: Hyudai has announced that on May 30, these shooting stars are becoming “MobED (Mobile Eccentric Droid),” Hyundai’s first Metamobility NFT.
MobED is a new concept mobile platform that is integrated with Hyundai Motor Company’s cutting-edge robotics technology. It is capable of driving smoothly on uneven terrain, maintaining perfect balance while deftly overcoming obstacles, and evolving into various forms based on the purpose of movement.
MobED, the first primary character of Metamobility NFT, interfaces with the Metamobility world via unique driving technology that transcends mobility limitations.
“With the launch of this NFT, we are focusing on the infinite potential of NFTs that will connect people to digital lives in the metaverse, expand space, and offer new experiences. By issuing a Metamobility NFT under the Hyundai brand’s vision of ‘mobility’, new mobility experiences are being explored that will take place within the newly created digital ecosystem of Web 3.0, with NFTs as a means to connect the digital to the offline.”
The MobED NFTs open the first chapter in Hyundai’s Metamobility universe. As stated on the official channels of Hyundai, starting with these MobEDs, various Metamobility NFTs will be issued thereafter by to offer new experiences and benefits to current holders.
Hyundai also intends to bring the Metamobility universe to life over the long term and will continue to develop new mobility experiences in this universe for NFT holders to link online to offline. Various events and roadmap will be available on the official Hyundai NFT site.
