Cristiano Ronaldo, one of football’s greatest players, has inked a sponsorship agreement with cryptocurrency exchange Binance, making him the latest superstar to form a lucrative partnership with a digital asset business.
The iconic Portuguese footballer, who has played for Manchester United, Juventus, and Real Madrid, will collaborate with Binance to develop a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that will be sold only through the Binance NFT platform.
The first collection, which will showcase NFT artworks produced in partnership with Ronaldo, will be launched later this year.
“My relationship with the fans is very important to me, so the idea of bringing unprecedented experiences and access through this NFT platform is something that I wanted to be a part of,” said Ronaldo.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the world’s best footballers, and has transcended sport to become an icon in multiple industries. He has amassed one of the world’s most dedicated fan bases through his authenticity, talent, and charity work,” said Binance Founder and CEO “CZ” (Changpeng Zhao).
