In recent months, Disney has become increasingly serious about non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and Web3.
Having launched its latest projects and those that are coming, Disney wants to ensure compliance and protection, which is why it is seeking to hire a corporate attorney experienced in transactions involving emerging technologies, such as NFTs, blockchain, metaverse, and decentralized finance.
This position would involve providing legal advice and support throughout the product life cycle for global NFT products, ensuring compliance with applicable U.S. and international laws and regulations, and helping conduct due diligence on projects involving NFTs, blockchains, third-party marketplaces, and cloud providers.
This isn’t the first time Disney has advertised a job related to NFTs and new technologies. The company published one in February for a business development manager to lead its NFT efforts.
Disney has been interested in Web3 from the beginning. In November, Disney issued NFTs depicting characters from its most beloved films, followed by the “Steamboat Willie” Mickey Mouse NFT collection in December.
Recent news came from Disney CEO Bob Chapek, who announced that Disney+ would become an immersive lifestyle platform where people could experience park rides virtually.
