This year’s Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) was evidently not a stand-alone event. Decentraland, one of the major metaverse platforms, has already announced the second round, which will take place early next year.
The MVFW23 event will be centered on the future of fashion, embracing the promise of new technologies and Web3, and merging the real and virtual worlds.
The upcoming virtual fashion event, developed in partnership with Spatial and OVER, will include runway shows, unique wearable collections, interactive 3D/AR online experiences, pop-up stores, and more.
One of the new additions is Tangpoko, a virtual supermodel who will serve as the first recognized MVFW supermodel.
The inaugural Metaverse Fashion Week 2022, which took place from March 24 to 27, this year, attracted over 100,000 guests who, probably for the first time, saw a glimpse into the future of fashion.
Over 60 well-known fashion brands, including Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Selfridges, Guo Pei, Paco Rabanne, Hugo Boss, and DKNY, made their Web3 debut during the event.
The announcement of the next MVFW indicates a desire to make it last in order to overcome typical IRL fashion show hurdles, such as being overly limiting for the average person and often invite-only.
