Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is expanding its presence in the non-fungible token (NFT) realm with the introduction of a new tool called “Instamint.”
The tool, as announced in a recent X (Twitter) post on January 18, enables users to swiftly create NFTs.
To use Instamint, users can connect their wallet, upload a photo from their gallery, or generate one using artificial intelligence (AI). They can then assign a name, provide an optional description, and set a price for their creation. After entering these details, users simply click on “Mint now,” and their NFT becomes visible in the Coinbase NFT marketplace.
This user-friendly function aims to simplify the NFT creation process, making it more accessible for individuals with limited experience in minting NFTs.
Similar initiatives have been seen in the past, with multichain wallet Phantom introducing “Camera Mint” in October 2023, allowing users to capture or upload images and instantly mint them as NFTs.
Binance had earlier set the stage in March 2023 with the unveiling of “Bicasso,” an AI tool for generating images and minting them as NFTs, later renamed “Bixel” and officially released to the public in July 2023.
Various companies are actively developing solutions to facilitate entry into the NFT market and the broader Web3 space. For instance, OpenSea recently simplified NFT onboarding by allowing users to create an account with a self-custodial crypto wallet by simply using their email.
