The blockchain-based carbon removal marketplace Nori published an article highlighting its accomplishments in 2021.
One of the company’s most notable achievements is that it has sold 48,000 Nori Carbon Removal Tonnes (NRTs) in thirteen individual projects this year.
To be more specific, Nori sold 36,441 NRTs to businesses to support their climate goals, and more importantly, individuals bought 11,559 NRTs as part of their own climate action plans.
Thanks to buyers’ support, Nori was able to pay six different farmers a whopping total of $747,730 for their carbon removal efforts.
As of this year, Nori also offers carbon removal subscriptions. Customers can purchase 10 NRTs, 100 NRTs, or a custom quantity of NRTs to remove carbon on a recurring basis.
Nori stated, “Our goal is always to make it as easy as possible for anyone in the world to pay for and get paid for removing carbon emissions from the atmosphere. We get that people have busy, stressful lives, and it can be easy to let things slip through the cracks.”
As a result of Nori’s partnership with Rarible, and others, such as musical artist Imogen Heap, NFT studio Orange Comet, and The Sandbox, the company is determined to expand its market in order to make the crypto space more sustainable going forward.
