Australia Zoo has announced the release of its second sustainable non-fungible token (NFT) drop as part of its 20th anniversary “Wildlife Warriors” project, created in collaboration with Australian start-up Meadow Labs and built on Algorand – the world’s first carbon-negative blockchain with negligible transaction fees.
There will be 1,900 NFTs in this drop, dubbed “Warrior Koala,” each priced at $60, which will be randomly generated (some with familiar Irwin family attributes) and 100% unique to the buyer (no duplicates).
The drop is scheduled to be released on Tuesday 23rd August at 21:30 AEST on australiazoonfts.com.
Among a series of five animal drops, this is the second drop from a five-part collection, with the fifth animal available only to buyers who have one NFT from each of the previous four drops. Holders will also gain access to a dedicated Discord channel, special rewards, competitions, and other secret surprises, some involving Robert Irwin.
Wildlife Warrior dropped its first drop on 14 June, the ‘Warrior Croc‘, and sold out in 10 hours. As a result of this groundbreaking venture into digital art and Web3, funds will be used to support a variety of conservation and sustainability initiatives, such as crocodile research that includes tagging five wild crocodiles at the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve and treating and rehabilitating 14 sick or injured koalas at Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital.
